Watermelon Sangria is fresh, fruity and perfect for your next BBQ or girls night!
I made this recipe for my friend Sara’s bachelorette party. We were doing a bicycle wine tour in Niagara on the Lake and needed some refreshments for the ride, so I filled a few Gatorade bottles up with this yummy Watermelon Sangria. Needless to say, the ride was a little more wobbly and a lot more fun!
Here’s what you’ll need…
1st step: Blend watermelon until it is liquid consistency (I did this in batches) …
2nd step: Pour watermelon juice through a mesh strainer to separate the pulp and seeds from the juice …
3rd step: The fun part … well, besides DRINKING it! Mixing in the alcohol …
4th step: Add diced fruit and mix it all up …
5th step: Refrigerate for 4 hours (or longer).
6th step: Serve and enjoy with some good music and great friends!
INGREDIENTS
- 6 cups cubed watermelon (if you want a stronger watermelon flavor, use up to 9 cups)
- 1 (750 milliliter) bottle white wine (I used Jacob’s Creek Moscato)
- 1 cup vodka
- ½ cup triple sec
- 1-3 cups cubed seeded watermelon (to taste)
- 1 medium lemon, sliced or quartered
- 1 apple, diced
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place 6 cups of watermelon cubes in a blender Blend on high until very smooth
- Strain juice through a mesh strainer into a large pitcher
- Pour the wine, vodka, and triple sec into the pitcher
- Stir to combine
- Mix the remaining 1-3 cups of watermelon cubes, lemon and apple into the sangria
- Chill for 4 hours before serving (I chilled overnight)
- TIP: I used lemon and apple because that’s what I had on-hand. Use whatever fruit you have handy. The recipe I adapted this from suggested blueberries, limes and oranges.
Cheers!

Yum! Thanks for sharing!
That sounds amazing. Perfect for those insanely hot summer nights. I might put melon balls in it instead of the apples.
Oh wow, what a great idea! That sounds so yummy. I may try that myself. Thanks for the tip!
